Completely
We talked about a lot of things,
From school and work to our biggest fears.
We talked about music, and our favorite artists,
And also the topics that brought us tears.
Somewhere along, love was mentioned,
And I, of course, became quiet.
You, as always, persisted,
And kept talking and poking at me, because you were a riot.
Then you asked me,
Whether I would give myself completely to another person,
To which i said, “I don’t know.”;
Because my mind tells me one thing,
Completely different from my soul.
I perhaps would, but I am scared of,
Being the only one that gives.
I know they say you’re a fool when in love,
But I also know that everyone leaves.
You told me that life is a mystery,
And love is a risk.
“You can never choose too wisely,
For people, before you meet them, are,
Like an empty CD disc.”
I thought to myself: “What does he know;
Just another madman.”
But somewhere along the way, I got a taste of the madness,
And with that, my own change began.
As time passed by, and we would just say hi and smile,
I wanted to come back to that question from before,
And tell you… If you chose to be completely mine,
I would, without a doubt, be completely yours.
