Freckles
I don’t want your perfect side,
The mask behind which you hide away.
You feel as though you’re lovable only when smiling,
While your heart cries in pain.
So show me where you’re broken,
For every broken speck of you is like a freckle on your face.
The proof that the sun touched your skin,
And you felt the world’s disgrace.
And my darling I shall love you,
In the darkness and day;
Because those freckles of yours,
Take my pain away.
